MK1 POLO LX, 1981 For Sale - Full MOT, Factory Spec

Hi All. Selling my Blue MK1 Polo LX which has been in the same family for all its life, with two previous registered owners (from the same family). The father was an experienced mechanic and took great, great care of this car and safely stored for 12 years off the road. It has no welding and is solid. It’s done 59k and is completely factory spec, right down the original radio. The paint has some beautiful patina (mostly to the drivers rear side), along with some chips and scratches, with only a few rust spots in places (mostly to the original steel wheels and to the nearside rear lower arch) not bad at all for original 35 year old paint. Serviced and 12 Months MOT, it only needed a new rear drum, handbrake cable, back box and two tyres – 3 advisories. Nippy 1.1 engine and drives sweet. Probably the biggest problem with the car is the boot dampener, which is shot but only about £30 to replace (new) and a few chips to the windscreen (not mentioned in the MOT). Would absolutely love to keep but other VW project to do! The blue interior is nice and clean and intact, with only a bit of wear to the driver’s seat with. The headlining retains a very clean vivid bright white without any discolouring.
