Volkswagen polo GTI for sale 2001 3dr in red one of the rarer colours (silver been most popular).

The vehicle has been in the family for 4 years now and has been well and truly looked after by VW thoroughbreds.

The mileage on her is 106,000 which when you remember the car is 16 year old isn't bad going, 6500 miles a year.

The polo is COMPLETELY standard with out any modifications. (Very hard to find). Ideally I would like to sell to another enthusiast who will keep it this way and one day this could be a real collectors piece.

The polo comes with full service history (running out of pages in the book now) and has just had a complete enthusiasts service which included oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, and original NGK plugs. All filters in Mann which are an OE equivalent. Receipts to prove. 1.12.2016

I have just spent over £400 having the timing belt kit, water pump and auxiliary belt replaced, again with OE equivalent parts. (Receipts to prove) 1.12.2016

These 6n2 GTI's are really prone to gearbox failure as I am sure you are well aware. The box on this is impeccable, pulls like a train. I have just done a full gear box fluid change with original FeBi .... oil. Receipts to prove. 1.12.2016

The polo has 12 Months MOT and has just had front and rear discs and pads, rear brake disc dust shields, a rear wheel bearing, rear shocker, new o/s rear Abs sensor, front coil spring, top mount, track rod end and wipers all round. The polo did not fail the MoT on these items as can be seen online with VOSA's MOT history Checker. It passed first time and these items were only replaced as I noticed they were deteriorating. She has also just been 4 wheel laser aligned due to the new track rod end been fitted.

The wheels have been refurbed in the original silver and have had new centre caps and wheel bolt covers straight from VW. There is a slight mark on the drivers wheel which bugs me every time it gets a detail and polish, but I have never got round to getting the wheel re-painted.

As polo owners will know the front window switches on these 6n2's are one of its biggest down falls. Both the switches have been regularly maintained and work perfect including lighting up when dipped beam is on. (Rare)

The car comes with 2 keys and central locking WHICH STILL WORKS FROM THE FOB!!!

If I had one bad thing to say about the car it would be that the drivers wing mirror has a 5p sized crack in the mirror glass. Very Annoying!! Also there are a few issues with the paintwork, the drivers wing has a scrape on it which has gone back to the metal as can be seen in the pictures, the bonnet has quite a few stone chips which have gone through the paint and there is also some laquer peel starting on the roof near the spoiler.

If you are looking for a Molested GTI that you want to pick up for £600 with a knackered gear box, no history and a list of stupid halford style modifications then this polo isn't for you and you should keep scrolling onto the next item.
