Does anyone know how to get rid of dampness in a car? My Polo has been sat since October and the steering wheel has slight signs of mould but there isn't any signs of dampness anywhere else, I know I could probably put a dehumidifier in it but is there anything else I can do? Thanks 

Could get a cat litter in a box/tray? Also seen people fill a sock with litter and leave a few around the interior. But for me, and I tried them options and it was still bad, I'd probably strip out the seats and carpet and do a proper clean up.

I'll probably go with the easy option first and if it doesn't I will have to strip it, it doesn't look too bad but it's still a worry! Thanks

in approximate cost order

• weld and seal any battery tray rust hole
• mains condensing dehumidifier
• mains fan heater
• peltier element  dehumidifier
• hair dryer
• replace door interior membrane seals with large plastic bags
• moisture trap crystals above  a large flat container so does not spill round corners
• cat litter
• drive it with heater on and windows open
• park on a slope - facing up hill - soak up moisture with sponges and newspaper at lowest point of carpet at back seat wells
• clean battery tray firewall drain holes
