Coilovers on mk2f hubs

The other day I removed the suspension ( struts ) noticed they were welded, so I cut around the welds allowing me to separate the suspension from the hub. What coilovers fit into the hubs sleeve so I can weld around it? I was think MK1 Golf Coilovers anyone have any ideas? Also I am an experienced fabricator/welder.
