Polo 9n indicator issue

My better half has a polo 9n tdi

 

The right indicator isn't working properly

 

When you lift the stalk, the click is present, and so is the light, although it is dim, and the clicking is very quick

 

No lights on the outside though 

 

I've checked the bulbs using the hazard switch and that worked fine, as do the left indicators

 

Any ideas?
