Anyone looking for ideas for bluetooth or general sound system for their older polo's, i ditched the standard car stereo and went with this. Got an old jbl flip off ebay, doesn't have to be this specific speaker, just check that whichever one you're looking for does what you want it to do. Some can be paired with other speakers so you could have wireless speakers in the back too. I wanted built in mic for phone, bluetooth for tunes. 

I put a double usb charger in the cigarette lighter, run one cable around the back into the speaker to keep it charged, (the older the speaker, the less the battery life, especially if you crank your tunes!) The other cable goes to my phone which sits in a holder i made out of lego technics. I downloaded a dab radio app but can also play the tunes i have on my phone or even spotify if i want. As the phone is plugged in, i can also use voice control if i need to. I can also take the whole set up out if i need to pretty easily, one less excuse for someone to break in. 

The sound quality is not going to blow any minds but is good enough and loud enough to keep me happy and entertained. 

When i first put it in, the speaker did fall out on sharp bends as it's rounded. To cure this, i put some velcro tape on the stereo surround and on the speaker itself. Had to glue the tape to the stereo surround but it isn't really noticeable. Holds it in place just fine even on sharp bends. Will test it properly when i replace suspension and can take corners a bit quicker! Have used it to make calls and works real well. Think the whole set up cost around £50. The biggest factor is the speaker itself. The latest jbl flip version is about £120. I got a 2nd gen one for £40. Apart from that it was cost of velcro tape, usb charger adapter and a spare cable.

REAL easy to take out. The speaker is literally only attached to the usb cable. I put the soft side of the velcro on the stereo surround so you can't really see it until you're up close. Phone holder can be removed or tucked away somewhere. Being lego, you can make it any way you like. Probly even make a folding one. 

I picked the jbl flip cuz of the shape. Got an older one just to see if it works but i'll probably get the newer one when funds allow. I looked at the splash by Urban Ears. Flat with a caribener so could hang it from the rear view or just set it down on the dash. And it can be paired with another speaker that's the same. There's loads you could use. 

If you find yourself in curry's, hmv, maplins or somewhere similar, check out the sizes of the speakers. Could easy fit somethin under that speaker grill.
