At last my servo has come back from repair. The BRM conversion is based on a BMC servo and master cylinder. I had my suspicions when I couldn't get a vacuum to hold on the servo so to be safe, I sent it away to a specialist. They found a lot wrong so it would not have worked when installed. My biggest concern now is how much room it takes up in the engine bay and if it misses turbo pipework. But if it works as it should then I will have a braking system that will match the engine upgrade.
