Strange wheel bearing problem

Featured Replies

Hello once again, iv had new wheel bearings and my old hubs pressed in my coilovers, the outer part of the bearing is nice and tight in the strut but one of the hubs can be pulled about 3mm out there's loads of play but I can't see what would be wrong, I was told that on the hub there was signs of wear and maybe even grinding. I'm wondering if there is a certain way they should have been done if not then I know it's just the hubs are screwed.

Have the hubs been "modified" because of the tight fit or natural wear if there is such a thing?

If they've been altered then time to replace

I think someone's tried grinding them down to fit, I brought them off someone on here aswel

you wont be able to use those if they've been adjusted

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361629824822

I'm wondering if MK2 golf hubs will fit as iv got some that came with my brakes

That looks like the inner race stuck to the hub and they cut it off

If your gonna try the golf ones compare them with the polo for size and depth also try the driveshaft in one to see if itll seat properly
