Hi just looking at replacement both of the coolant temperature sensors. 

I removed both blue and black sensors and both have stamped on them max temp 125c.

Question is what's the starting temp ?

 

 

Both sensors are og VW parts .

why do you need the starting temp?  just look up the part for the car , theres not many to choose from you can tell by looking at it /colour

 

dont be tempted by cheap no name ebay ones

Not sure really most of them start @40c  just over thinking I guess. Two colours black and blue but had noticed on autodoc some were grey.

 

Been looking at the Hella and febi ones on autodoc as I don't really do eBay jobies anymore. 

for the blue one (ecu control) id buy genuine so many people have problems with them and you will always doubt a non genuine when theres an issue 

 

the other (black i guess?)  is the dash gauge so that will be innacurate if its not up to spec 

Information taken on board .  But when you say genuine one you mean from vw ?

yeah vw ....put it this way , fit a non vw one and have running issues or temp gauge reads wrong the first thing people will ask is does it have a  genuine sender , theyre known to be rubbish and cause lots of problems

 

 

Ok great I get in touch with VW dealership ? 

dealer ,  tps or sometimes on ebay for a few quid more than cost
