Hi Guys

 

I wanted to retrofit a unit that supported app connect but after speaking to a VW Coder not sure if I want to do it. 

 

As he told me because my VW Polo (6C) is a 2015 model when VW only introduced app connect in 2016 I would need to remove the component protection on the second hand unit (easy enough) but then would have to patch the system because in 2015 VW never had app connect  and then he would need to reinstall app connect on the unit and then I would have to get a licence for app connect and even bluetooth which all in would be around the £500-£600 mark . Plus second hand units are selling for around £60.

 

So I was wondering are there any aftermarket units for this Polo that look OEM and still work with the steering wheel or even a unit that just fits well looks nice and works with the steering wheel.

 

I don't have parking sensors or rear camera so not worried about that
