The licensed version of Lite is surprisingly capable, I might have a play this evening on my 9N to see what's available.  Never tried before.

 

According to what he does here, it's either under basic settings or output tests, both of which are available on every other module I've worked on with VCDS Lite (registered), so I'd say you don't need the full version.

Will check later that those options aren't greyed out when connected to the ABS module of my specific car.

Right so I dont need full version. i will register it for 99 dollars , that should be good enough.

If you do place an order, please understand two things:

1) VCDS-Lite license purchases are not refundable under any circumstances.

2) We do not have an ABS bleeding procedure for your specific car and in
fact, are not convinced that a VCDS-Lite will be at all helpful with this.

That's good of them.

I doubt very much you'd ever regret spending the $99 as it is such a useful tool for so much on these older cars, but good to be forewarned that it might not address your problem.

I bled the front brakes again. 

I am starting to wonder if it is natural for the non vented & smaller discs to get hotter than the fronts leadings you to beleive the fronts are not working as they should.

 

no fault codes on ABS using vcds free version. No point spending 99 dollars plus brake fluid bottles if everything is already.

JUst dont want rears ot catch fire. whats max temps discs can get to before you should worry.

 

did a ten minute drive , brakes a few times rears were 100C and fronts were 50C

Pads can reach 500 degrees.

Smaller solid disks run hotter.

Small pads are hotter than big pads.

 

If it is not locking up the rears first ant not boiling the brake fluid it's probably fine.

Get a roller brake test as done as part of MOT (unless you car is too low for the rollers).

 

good idea. makes sense.  i can push car without andbrake on.

hand brake cable is flapping around under car  abit but i doubt that could engage a handbrake.

How they supposed to get cooling with dust shield on this side of brake disc; that stops all air flow to it.
