Throttle hesitation mk2 breadvan

Featured Replies

Hello,Ā

I'm new to the forum so sorry in advance if this question has been asked too many times.
My 1984 mk2 breadvan has quite severe engine hesitation under acceleration. There is a 'dead zone' when you push the throttle halfway, then if you start flooring it the engine picks up revs again. I already saw there is a list of things in an engine that can cause this, but before trying everything i thought about narrowing down the options. Do any of you know whether there is a very likely cause for aĀ mk2 breadvan to have suchĀ hesitation? BTW: the spark plugs and leads areĀ  already checked and OK.

good fix...keep an eye on it incase the tank is dirty inside

Could it be the carb needs cleaning out and a circuit is not working because of a blockage?
