I know the 085 can be the weak point in a performance application and there is an adapter to a stronger VW gearbox. What are the weak points of the 085 and can they be strengthened? When in a testing centre the staff managed to split the 084 that was in the car at the time on a stock engine. The casing was destroyed around  the differential. Would the 085 fail in the same place? The 085 I have in the car has a LSD. Does the stronger VW gearbox require a bespoke mount to the chassis rail?
