Hi Pete,

Been advised that the windows and central locking in my daughters 05 Polo can be fixed with a replaced/refurbed 'drivers door motor module' part number 6Y1959801

If you're still offering the service can you message me contact details.

Much appreciated.

Message sent to you, thanks for the enquiry. 🙂

Hi, I have problems with windows and central locking not working from drivers door. I have removed the motor 6Y1959801 also with Temic numbers 440775FX 401350A8. Can you help with testing/fixing the module.

Many thanks

@Vellan, yes I'll be happy to help you with that. I'll message you with more info.

Many thanks Pete. I posted a request for help on Weds. Pete PM'd me shortly after. Motor was in the post to him the same day. Fixed by him the following day and returned to me on Friday morning. A remarkably short turn around. Motor has been re-fitted to car and windows and central locking are all functional. Good communication and was kept up to date throughout. Very pleased and can recommend the service that has been provided.

Fitted this week, worked a treat thank you Pete such an amazing service, old one in the post.

Hi all, hi @Pete1!

I have a Polo IV from 2007 and the two front windows don't open anymore. The issue first appeared during the 2023-2024 winter season. Then, during the 2024 summer, it started working again, but not everyday. We changed the fuse but it had no impact. During the 2024-2025 winter, the issue was there again. We then changed the switch and it had no impact, And now, summer is here… which means the car is functional but not really usable.

As it's always been affecting both front windows, and as it had been reacting to heat for a time, am I right saying I'm in charted territory here?

If so, I'd like to know if you're an option for me, @Pete1, because I live in France.

I'm back to say that Pete has performed his magic trick again. Front windows are now functioning again. What a relief!

Thank you Pete, and thank you clubpolo. He and this space are typically what make the Internet a formidable tool – experts ready to help, clearly human testimonies backing up what the experts say, searchable and referenced archives. Social media, Chat-GPT and Discord servers were of no help whatsoever!

Hi Pete, (my 1st post here) I have a 05 polo 1.9tdi gt with window trouble, if I disconnect the battery and leave it for an hour, reconnect the battery, they will occasionally start working ish, sometimes just the passenger side, but never lasts before stopping again, so far I've checked the wires between the door and A pillar, they look fine with no signs of cracking, even fitted a new relay & changed the 100uf cap on the drivers side 6Y1959801 module, still no joy, is it the mc33689adwb ic that dies in them and causes all the trouble? Be way beyond my capabilities if it is, remote central locking seems unaffected, but the using the key in the drivers door just opens/ locks it, the interior light doesnt go out locking with the key, if I lock via the fob then unlock with key, open the door the alarm goes off, till I press the fob to unlock... does it sound like the drivers window module at fault of a wiring break that I've missed? any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Ben

Not the relay, not the capacitor and not the LIN chip.

Hey Paul, my windows have stopped working and an auto electrician has advised I need 6Y1959801, it's for a 06 9N3 1.4. Do you have one for replacement?
