Ev or hayabusa power

Featured Replies

Right then the hayabusa engine in the polo needs a rebuild

Do I

A rebuild it to over 200hp

B sell the hayabusa kit and replace it with a electric motor with 200hp and 320nm

what do you guys think ?

I like the complete opposite ends of the spectrum there. If cost isn't an issue then I would think it comes down to the weight of the batteries required to run 320nm for more than 40 miles and if you can distribute them satisfactorily.

I wanted to EV my wifes MK1 but the cost was just too high.

@Sunbeamlotus whoa I wasn't expecting that! If you've got a plan to make it work then I say go for the electric motor.

Either way, lots of updates on a build thread in the Mik1 section please! 😃
