Building Peggy!

Featured Replies

I have acquired myself a 6n2! Meet Peggy, my first car and first of many VWs I'm sure! I bought her off someone off this forum, and I'm excited to get started on this project.

Peggy update! I’ve started to give her a good clean up, which has taken a while with work etc.

She’s currently away for a gearbox, clutch and flywheel change, the first big change! As we were driving her, gear changes slowly got more and more difficult, and there is a delightful crunch sound when you put it in reverse.

She also had a few bulbs changed and a thermostat change so now is lovely and toasty!

Next steps are probably a rear wiper delete (kill all wipers!) and de-badge, and a GTI gear shifter to compliment the steering wheel.

She is home, better late than never (thanks MOT)! After the gearbox change she drives like a dream, with no unwanted crunching. It did, however, fail the MOT. One new catalytic converter later, and she is road worthy again.

Decided to treat myself to some new dust caps (thrilling) and a GTI gearstick, which I haven’t installed yet.

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates on here, I’ve been so busy! October has been a big month, she has coilovers and a GTI spoiler now! I can’t add the photos because they’re large, I’ll find a way at some point!
