Hi I'm looking for a new windscreen for my polo as its now letting water in and has delamination in the corners just wondering if anyone knows where I can get one. Thanks

does your insurance cover it ?  wait until you get a nasty chip then claim for one 

The windscreen is bonded one so not an easy DIY job, best left to an insurance claim  

If you go round the smaller windscreen companies, they're often a lot cheaper than the big names. Often to the point where it's not worth paying an excess and talking to insurance. 

It's not got any insurance its a project I'll have to keep looking around most places I've asked won't give me the windscreen unless they fit it might have to shop around see whats best. Thanks

I'd let them fit it personally, that way if they mess it up, they have to buy another one.

 

That said, bonded screens aren't hard to fit if you've got some suction cup handles and a mate with a steady hand. The difficulty is in putting it straight down in the right place evenly. The worst bit is cutting the old one out and cleaning the frame up.

smaller one man places will sell you one , avoid the big national chains you see on tv

Ok cheers Ill have a look at local places been quoted 235 for it supplied seems to be the cheapest so far by a bigger company 

The little ones will probably be alright with taking it out then fitting the new one at a later date if you've got stuff to do on the car while the glass is out (generally called a "body shop R+R" ).

might be worth asking at any back street type bodyshops , they ought to know a guy that charges normal prices 

Just found a shop that will supply and fit it for 160 plus vat think I'm going to book with them gives me abit of time to sort out the electrics that have been affected by the water. Thanks
