9N3 remote issues

Featured Replies

Hello,

My first listing.

I have a 2007 9N3 Dune. When I got it, I was told the remote had stopped working a few months back.

I took the car to VW garage who found it had a black box fitted. They removed this, but with their computer, couldnt I.D the problem. They said it may be the drivers door lock. I replaced the lock with a working 2nd hand one and replaced the door loom at the same time to eliminate breaks in the wire. Still the same.

I had an electrical technician look at it. ON his computer, he couldnt find anything wrong, but still the remote wouldnt work. I then went to a car key engineer who connected the car to his computer, but could not find where the problem was. He checked the remote key, and found it to be working correctly, just not connecting to the car.

He said the problem could be with the signal receiver which he thought was in the body control module, but didnt know where that was.

OK, does anyone know where the body control module is, and, if I got a second hand one, what would it need to operate. Would it just be a one out one in, or would it need re-programming?

One interesting thing, is that when I turn off the radio, which is none standard, the drivers door lock button 'twitches' as if trying to operate?

Any help/ advice very, very welcome. I am quite good with mechanical issues, but not electrical.

Thank You  John
