Water damage to 9N window motor module

This came up in another thread, and the poster agreed to let me put the photos up on his behalf.

It's not directly related to the 9N3 window motor thread - those have different part numbers beginning 6Y, and different connector and wiring arrangements; so I thought it better to start a new one on his behalf.

I don't think it's worth trying to resurrect this module, spares should be readily available.

Although the plastic circuit board housing has a seal around its perimeter, the loom connectors don't have any waterproofing measures as far as I remember, so any wetness coming down the wires may well end up inside the housing, I think.

 

The only thing I would suggest is worth particular attention, is trying to clean any corrosion off the loom connector inserts that correspond to and mate with the 'greened' pins in the first picture.

@Highbury may well wish to add more background info.
