I think some 6n use cable change mechanism

You need rod change, so 1982 to 1990 Polo (for either 084 or 085 gearbox) for definite.

Maybe early 6N with 085 gearbox.

 

The rod length does not matter.

    Spacer and gaskets of 4.15mm would be a cylinder of 18.33cm3 +21.9cm3 in the bowl gives 40.23cm3.   318/40.23 = 7.9: static CR   Plug that into Wallace calculator and you are at 12
