Hi everybody,

Bit of a long shot but I've recently purchased this brace kit from TA Technix:

And I was wondering if anyone on here has had experience fitting any items from this kit?

 

Firstly, so far I've fitted what I believe would be the most beneficial: the Front lower wishbone strut. My polo is lowered 40mm all round but it does sit particularly close to the ground. Does anybody know if this is correct?

 

Secondly, in regards to the front and rear strut braces, I was having trouble dropping the front suspension down in order to reach above the top mount and haven't even attempted the rear yet. Am I going about this in the complete wrong way? On another note, on the driver's side I believe it is the brake fluid reservoir (?) that is in the way when lining up the strut. Obviously I don't want to go around messing with the braking system as I'm not the brightest but what has anyone else done?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm dying to get this kit on before VolksWorld.

Found this test fit pic on clubg40.  Not a TA technix. 

Yeah, topping up or changing brake fluid will be awkward. Only every 2 years.

 

Look like Salzmann top mount on near side.

Dropping a strut requires holding the coil springs with spring compressors, disconnecting the Track wishbone ball joint and ARB either at the strut or at  the front mounts.

 

Then loosening the shock damper nut while stopping the rod turning.

There's a special tool for this if standard VW shocks.

 

Replace the top mounts while you are doing this.

 

Removing strut also tie rod end balljoint.
