What is this oblong shaped part near the rear left wheel of my 6N?  

It's rattling like a b*stard so I need to replace it.

 

There's also one on the other side but that one is tight as a drum.

I have no idea what it is, but is the orange arrow pointing to a small rock that appears to be trapped in there, and possibly rattling? Or optical/photographic illusion?

 

Ah, that's just a leaf. It's been sitting under a tree for a while and is covered in them.

 

I can shake that section and it moves quite a bit.  Unfortunately the jack positioning was a little precarious so couldn't get further underneath for a better look.

 

 

 

BTW, I see a note saying recent forum issues have been resolved.  Doesn't seem like it at this end, so if there are any duplicate posts this is why.

I keep seeing 'resource limit reached' when trying to access the site, and it seems very slow to load when it does work.

Not sure as I don’t deal with 6Ns but looks like it’s a brake bias compensator. As the car gets more weight in it the rear axle sits differently compared to the body actuating a valve to adjust the braking power. 2F GT and G40 have them.

Just Googled and I think you've nailed it.  Can't find an exact match but close enough to know it's more than likely this part.

Much more expensive than I anticpated though at £100 🤯

If it’s been lowered then it’ll need adjusting anyway to work properly. Might just need some adjustment as it shouldn’t be loose.

Yes hopefully just adjusting.  Fingers crossed.
I didn't adjust it post lowering so perhaps it's a good thing, otherwise I never would have checked it.
