2016 TSI Blue motion fuse box

Featured Replies

Hi. I have recently purchased a polo 2016 TSI blue motion. The media screen, radio etc don't work. I have tried holding the power button for 10 mins, pressing the eject button in the glove box, disconnect the button for a few mins but no luck getting it to switch on. My next visit was to the fuse box under the steering wheel. To me as you see in the picture it looks fairly empty. Is this correct?

Hard to see from a photo but if you have a close look at any/all of the empty fuse positions, check whether they have 0, 1 or 2 contacts in them that would actually connect to a fuse if one were present.

I expect you will find that most if not all of the empty slots have 1 or 0 contacts, so they wouldn't be able to do anything even if there were a fuse there. If 0 contacts you won't be able to even make a fuse stay in position.

This comes about because VW tend not to fit any wires for any non-fitted options when they build cars; there are lots and lots of different looms for different levels of equipment.

Only when there are two contacts in a fuse position is there both a power feed into the fuse and a power feed out to the equipment.

Does the manual give any/enough clues about which fuses are relevant to the radio?
