56 plate 9N polo mot failure

Featured Replies

H i all, i took the wifes Polo for MOT yesterday and it has failed on the following....

SUSPENSION ARM PIN OR BUSH EXCESSIVLEY WORN NEARSIDE FRONT ( HOUSING BUSH)

SUSPENSION ARM PIN OR BUSH EXCESSIVLEY WORN OFFSIDE FRONT ( HOUSING BUSH)

Can somebody please tell me if this is just a bush that needs replacing or is it a full wishbone unit as the garage want £360 to fix! but i have just rang local motorparts company and they have said its just a bush as its seperate and they are only £8 each.

The thing is im not 100% sure on the wording from the MOT fail of exactly which bit it is.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the rear bush, often referred to as a "console bush". They do wear rather quickly. If you want a solution that lasts, the Ibiza Cupra had reinforced ones.

To be fair, unless you're really on a budget and fancy crawling about under the car, it shouldn't be a big bill if you get the garage to do it.
