Hi all, new to the club but not new to polo’s😁had about 30 through my hands over the years all mk2 breadvans including one actual van🙂I’m now introducing my youngest daughter to the wonderful world of polo’s with a 1999 T reg 6N1 1.0 in glorious pistachio green☺️I’m a bit stuck on an issue of low tickover and hoping that someone can help me, it ticks over between 650-700rpm which apparently is correct! Problem is that she’s learning to drive and she is taught by her instructor to find the bite of the clutch before applying throttle and in modern cars that’s great because they have anti stall but this doesn’t so when she finds the bite it stalls, engine tickover is steady with no hunting or anything but is it possible to adjust the tickover to around 8-900rpm? I’ve searched the internet for information about this but can’t find anything about it, can anyone help me with this, my brother has vagcom (clone version) but the car won’t even connect to it, tried my boss’s snap on solus it connects but can only perform basic functions and I’ve done a TBA but still really low! when I figure out how you post pics I will post some of her little green mean machine, thanks Brian

Pretty sure it's a cable throttle on these, so could you tweak it up a bit?

Thanks for your reply, It is a cable throttle and I’ve tried moving the circlip further down but then the revs take to long to come down and it sits around 1500-2000 for too long😩I don’t know if it’s something that you can adjust through vagcom or not? my brother has a clone version and it won’t even connect with the car, works great with newer cars up to 2012 tho🤔we are looking at getting full version of it as he thinking of getting a newer car
