I own a 9N3. Bluemotion 2 2008, VW Polo.

HELP: please!

What bilstein stock suspension go on it?

Currently:

They are stock. With eibach slightly lowering it. It’s a bit stiff. I don’t like stiff on poor roads.

IDEA:

Bilstein B4 springs. Any good?

Anyone do this and how do they feel?

I can’t find the rear springs & part code.

Does anyone know the product codes to buy for my polo? Are they:-

FRONT Springs:

I deliberately run all my cars including my Mk2F Polo on stock dampers and springs, simply because of the state of all roads apart from Mways. My 924S was on stock Porsche springs and B4 dampers; this was the best setup i could find, but still bumpy.

Lowering springs always have an increased spring rate so always feel stiffer. The higher your tyre wall is, the more supple the ride will feel, but you lose out with excess tyre roll in bends. My 2F is on standard steels and tyres, when i corner hard the tyres howl like hell and i'm basically driving it on the walls!

Hi I think I will go bilstein B4s for everything. I don’t want to risk stock springs as ever polo I owned, stock rusted and snapped.

I saw some with Stanced UK, whilst googling this company there’s a mixed bag of reviews.

Bilstein are a good option. Your springs shouldn't be snapping, and generally corrosion doesn't make them snap, potholes make them snap. The material fatigues a lot faster than it should when you don't avoid them, even sunken drain covers need to be avoided. There are companies that will make you up a set of bespoke one-off springs if there isn't anything on the open market that suits.

Thank you! Bilstein & bilstein springs. I did read H&R are a good spring company. I only want OEM feel.

I always found Bilstein to be the best compromise for comfort. Just remember that the more -mm lowered it is, the greater the increase in spring stiffness is likely to be. The spring rate has to go up to keep it from hitting the bump stops. The worst for comfort are Gaz coilover kits and such like; good gear and fully adjustable, but like having no suspension at all.

Thanks again! I am soon ordering new bump stops, bilstein B4s, & normal stock springs. Back to comfort. Albeit she looks good on eibachs. lol

So I contacted bilstein. They were terrible. Last week they couldn’t figure what springs. Said I can do B4s. This week they say I can’t!

I am trying to find where to get springs for my car. A friend suggested stock febi… more research. lol
