Hi guys, have just passed my test and gotten myself a 2000 6N2 1.4 AUD(?) as my first car. Was running great for a day or two but has now developed an intermittent misfire. Usually starts right up and idles fine for about 30 seconds then starts to struggle. When driving sometimes it's fine, other times it can barely hit 60 on the motorway. Plugs and leads have already been replaced and the coil pack looks new but I don't have paperwork to prove when it was last changed. Haven't had a chance to perform a compression or leak down test yet as it's college half term 😭 😭

The spark side of it is less likely to be the problem if its got a new coil, leads and plugs; now you need to look at the fuel side. Fuel pressure test needs doing to determine if the fuel pump is any good, and you need a control pressure test to see if the pressure regulator is working. If it's SPI, i can't tell you how to do that, but someone else here will. Get a haynes manual for it if you can, and check all electrical connections for obvious damage.
