hello, first time I've seen them tt leathers, not clicked on here for a while... are they all fitted in now then? what did you have to do to fit em? does the subframe fit in the same holes as the existing frame holes?

You know how i said i were saving for an s3.... well I've kinda washed away that idea for a while now cos of insurance n i cant be arsed lol, so i bought a bmc the otherday and coillies or maybe a 60mm kit is on the list

I forgot how nice your car really is, i might sell you my engine to complete the project

Oh yeh, get some pics of interior up when you can cause i wanna see real bad

your plans sound spot on, how about an audi tt filler cap (powder coated black to go with the red/black theme)? ...and scrap the plans for another project car, instead get a massive transplant! well, that's just me.

Hi dave. yeh i was wonderin where you disappeared to!

The TT leathers are in and feel so good!!! haven't had time to take photos and do updates. Iv got a fair few things for her that i never updated, i'll get it all done tho. The seats took alot of work. They dont fit straight in as the subframe is completely different. Me n my dad fabricated a frame for the seats to sit on.....and now all is fine, the frames are subtle and unnoticeable.

I know what you mean about the S3, all about the money. Just wait and bide your time!

The car is looking shit just now tho, has no wing mirror, no splitter, and the old alloys back on, so is not looking its greatest. And as for the engine to complete the project. I'v got a cheaky little number up my sleave, or should i say in my garage.

I'll get some updates and pics of everything very soon my man!

Yeh I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to these little up dates. Having a nightmare getting the GTI splitter on as the bodyshop used bondinf and its filled all the bits were the clips slip into so i'm having to stanley it all out which is taking ages!!! Bloody depressing.

Hmmm the TT filler cap does seem a good option, but i cant be assed with all that hassle at the moment welding is involved. Means, a respray for the rear wing. May do it if i pull the arches next year.

well, it will definitely involve some bodywork, but you're no stranger to that anyway (I've watched your other progress thread) and you've always managed to achieve the perfect result. its just a radical idea that i want to do myself but haven't got the resources to do so. btw, whats the engine?

Yeh true mate, but i am totally skint till i go off shore in march tho, so it can wait.

its the 1.4 8v match engine bud, but ihave an ehgnie in the garage awaiting to go ib, Just need to find the time now.

phil if you cant get all the bonding stuff out off where the clips should be trim back the clips a little shorter and fit it like you retro fit it to the mk4 16v bumper i did! the recesses for the clips on the 16v mk4 bumper are much shallower than the clips actually on the mk5 splitter so i trimmed them all it fitted!

may be an easier solution to your problem if the bonding material isn't for budging!

then put some self tappers in to secure it!

and FYI Tav yes you will beat phil as he will be too busy just givin it a quick polish as you roll up to the quarter mile line and miss the green light! :lol:

A wee update folks. Been a wee bit lazy with them, nut your not getting to see the interior just yet till the arm rest is in anyway!

Right firstly i sold my reiger and looking like this at the moment

Got myseld the GTI splitter, but having a nightmare getting it on, as the previous splitter was bonded on, and now the bonding is covering a heap of the clips so i am having to scrape it all out, which is a proper bitch!!

I bought myself a wee ariel, only 5.5cm's long. Need to get myself an ariel repair kit. Its wrecked!

Somebody also smashed my mirror off so i took it as the ideal oppertunity to get myself a stubby!!! Both the mirrors are getting sprayed in gloss black along with the b-pillar. Black repeaters are also going on.

That was just a crappy little update i know, but i'll put more pics up of when everything is fitted, i'll get ptoper pics up off the TT's, and i'll get a heap up when the engine conversion and all the other stuff associated with that take place.
