it would be cheaper getin a pro to fix it

i charge about £40 for a repair like that

we do it different we use an airbrush no primer and a very thin clear cote

but we get very good results :)

A proper wheel refurbisher will weld round the rim to build it back up,then cut it to the original profile,then paint/laquer it for less than £50.But most want more,now.Still,no fill,no rubbish,100% alloy,properly repaired for the price.

I could just lathe the skin of my rims,like the latest VW rims.Tempting,but as i have 185 tyres on a 5.5" rim,my 18 year old alloys have barely more than surface scratches on them.

The best ideas come from the driveways,and here's my latest - If I've got to increase the size of my wheel for the brakes,i shall look into bolting split-rims onto my 13s having modified them to suit - making the rims from a cut and modified 14" steel,with the rims chrome plated.

thats easy!!!! ha ha ha.i think id pay to have it done myself.i should think you could make a complete mess of your alloys otherwise

doesnt look to hard at all.. and with a minor scuff like that id certainly have a go myself for the sake of £10 worth of paint

not sure I do. I take it you dont mean the silver bit in the 3rd pic.

17", 5 thin spokes, so massive gaps between spokes.

if you put your hand through the massive gaps, you have the inner dish?

most peoples wheels you cant see the inside of the wheel, altho mine have massive gaps in the design so you can.

I can see on your avatar. Iknow what you mean bbs would be harder I imagine. but might be okay if you spray it well

Chipsaway suck! i work for a smart repair company custom paintwerx and we have a division called wheel werx were mobile like chips away but we have are vans kitted with proper balencers and tyre removal machines. cuz last time i workd alongside chipsaway coventry they didnt even pop the tyre of the bead which is all good intil the paint starts peeling from the edge which it will. diy diamond cut refurb would be handy now thats costly otherwise!!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a wheel refurb company? My lenso's have some curbing on outer lip(?) that needs to be sorted out. I'm based around Surrey, and work in central london.
