What black hose exactly?

Its been quiet on the Polo front for a while now. Should be a few changes by the Mids meet on the 11th of May though. Having a couple of things done when the car gets serviced on Saturday this weekend :)

OK so some minor stuff done this weekend:

Car had her OIL service and a new cold air feed fitted (the black stuff found on eBay) so I'll be putting the old tubing up for sale soon. Also fitted a new Golf mk5 "shark-fin" aerial and a stubby 130mm driver's side mirror is on its way. Will get some better pictures of the aerial soon. New pair of T1Rs is next up!

Still got the BBS RM, they are very slowly taking shape and may or may not feature on the car later in the summer. To be honest though I'm quite happy to stay on the steels for the forseeable! :-D

I *might* be at All Types. As a visitor rather than a Club Stand member though. After really struggling to gather interest and numbers for uk-polos.net for the last couple of years I've not bothered this year to even try

I was at a Demon Tweeks open day last Saturday with my local car club SMAPCC, quick pic:

We had a bit of discount so picked up a clay bar kit and extra QD plus a K&N cleaning kit for cleaning my BMC air filter :-)

In other news, rear Polo 9N aero wiper is waiting to go on and the stubby mirror should be painted and on in about a fortnight? In time for the next Mids meet... I hope! I'm waiting for the quote to come back from a local bodyshop...

I've also fixed the broken bulb behind my heater console (above the ashtray) and had new sidelight (PIAA xtreme white) and high-beam (Philips VisionPlus) fitted. Both excellent bulbs and a great improvement over standard!

Just a wee update on things:

New Black Diamond rear pads arrived today to pair up with the brand new standard rear discs I have waiting, just need to get the whole lot fitted to the car some time. Whilst the new brakes go on, the G60 centre caps will come off and find a new top secret home deep in the Shire on another project...

Meanwhile, today saw the fitting of a Parrot CK3100 (Black Edition) hands-free. Really impressed with it!

Took advantage of the radio being out to have the Alpine HU's iPod connection cable run from the back of the HU, through to the glovebox (drilled a wee hole to get the cable in). Its only taken me 6 months to do it!

Now I just need to sort some wheels out... watch this space

Fitting is just a phone call away :-)

Back from the dead :-)

Rear arch now free of rust and looking good, boot handle removed, resprayed and refitted (usual corrosion/bubbling of paint), stubby mirror not fitted yet!

Rainbow components arrived today (thanks to Polo01), I also have a pair of fresh and new interior grab handles to go in when the door cards come off and of course the stubby mirror. All in time for UD...?

I got my sidelights on eBay, they are PIAA items. However, it was so long ago that the links to the seller and page on eBay have now been removed!

I think the theme for 2009 will be TLC and refinement IMHO. Starting off by further upgrading the ICE and looking at a leather retrim before the big summer shows. Couple of minor exterior changes to be done, some attention to the bodywork and I need to get some different rims on, take the G60 steels off and either (a) get the rear pair banded to 7/7.5" or (b) get front and rear banded!
