Can't spill what the wheels are if they're not on the car, can I! That would be daft :)

Ordered some new parts yesterday for the 6N2, brand new, rare and have to be imported as there are none in VW's UK stock. Should arrive by the weekend!! :ninja:

sounds interesting Si! when the wheels being shown? i miss my polo :(

No showing of the wheels until March 2010 my friend!

You've sprayed your rear lights and there's a white patch in the bottom of the pic on the right!

Ha ha! Nice one Steve :-p I actually should have kicked the box the lights were in outta the way for the second shot, whoops!

The lights are genuine brand new JDM 6N2 rears. As you can see, the indicator and reverse lights are not red like our standard European lights. You don't see them very often!

You don't see them very often!

Because original UK spec ones are better :-p

Looks very nice Si 8-) Something different thats for sure

Perhaps make the reverse section a bit smaller? Just looks a bit too much

Is there a LHD version? Maybe gain some symmetry with 2 reverse lights or something ;)

Cheers for the comments guys. There is no LHD version to match either the fog or reverse lights. And I can't make the reverse light area smaller because this is how they come! 100% original baby! Ha ha 8-)

Also... uh ohes! I ordered a pair of amber side repeaters to go with them today! Obviously I'm keeping a hold of my standard crystal side repeaters and standard all-red rears just in case this new look doesn't work out.

Amber side repeaters now on, but hidden in this pic by the reflection of winter sun!

Feeling a change of wheels soon ;)

Spigot rings are now at my local sorting office awaiting collection... wind deflectors on the way!

Looking good mate, trying to guess what the new wheels are though :?

Looking at buying a black GTi myself, is it true this car is still on the original box with 100K+ on the clock? Any secrets to prolonging gearbox life (except for not ragging the shit out of the car obv)?

he drives it like he stole it lol.

Yes its original box. :)

So's quite a few. just the ones you dont hear about that run with no problems.

I guess, just when you're scanning for sale adverts a lot of cars with higher miles have had the gearboxes done, and then you go onto uk-polos guide and it says they tend to go on average at 60K, and the car you are looking at has 60K miles on it (original box) just makes you a little concerned thats all

mines on 80 now. Not a hint of a problem yet

touch wood

Yeah went for a test drive and seemed fine. TBH the one in my current 6N2 seems more likely to go, crunches in reverse and often won't go into first...time to sell I think :ninja:

Yes Dom, I put pics on Dubshire! I have bought a set of Borbet BS that used to belong to GTILass on here 8-) and now just need some 185/45/15s to go on them and they should squeeze under my standard arches with little or no work (fingers crossed).

Should get them on late February / very early March, for UD 2010!
