How should i refurb my P Slots?!?!?!?!?

Featured Replies

Hi i have recently bought some old P-slots off Fleabay.

Just want some peoples advice on whether they fit easily and also how should i refurb them??

I have a black mk4 polo to put them on. Should i polish them? Paint them? If anyone has any images of refurbed P Slots it would be cool please post them!

Also if anyone knows of any companies in the East Anglia area that refurb alloys let me know...... :finger:

On a black 6N I'd get them refurbed in standard colours but with black centre caps.

Always looked brilliant fully mirror polished aswell.

mirror polished with black detailing of the p's

Don't polish them by hand, is my advice. I tried and failed! If you like your fingertips, get a polishing kit/dremel or something.

Everyone loves mirror polished P-s though. I quite liked my ones i painted white:

Yeh man those white rims look sweet. Definately an option il consider.

I think i will probably go with black centre caps polished lip and either gun metal grey or a gold finish or maybe polished.

Want something original!!!

Check out these wood effect ones i wouldnt do it to my car but it looks PIMP!

Also someone was sellin these in the forum but i dont think black rims would look good on a black car....

any idea what size tyres these are ^^^^^^ I'm talking about the ones on the black pirellis. I've been trying to get 175/50/14 but with no luck.

PM a guy called POLOGARETH he was sellin them on the for sale section. I beleive they are still for sale.

Those rims look sweet on the silver car but I'm not sure if they'd suit a black car...

I'd hazzard a guess at 195/45/14.

Either powder coat them black or get them chromed in my opinion...

I want something a bit more original as everyone seems to have chromed ones and black would look stupid on a black car i reckon.

Dark Silver with BMW Cosmos Metallic Black Detailing

Dude, they are 194/45/14s, i've asked him!

tomadomeit, i'll get some pics of mine up, i've got polished ones, but only look good with the metal polished caps too! also i did a set last summer in black with silver detailing, i'll post up tomorrow when i'm at uni.

on a black car, i think dark grey with the poished lip like gareth's would look mental!

here are mine! think the black ones would look cool on a black car or a silver one!

and polished, well they look sweet on anything! specially these aftermarket * P slot ones with polished caps!

here are mine just in hamarite

The pic with the polished caps looks crazy. I'm sure the centre caps i have are made of plastic? My P slots are the mk2 versions not he mk1 campaign ones so it doesnt have pirelli written on the caps :( :( :( :(

the polished ones are the aftermarket pirelli ones, like super uber rare! yes, all caps including the mk1 campaign were plastic, only the aftermarket ones were alloy!

it'll be bout £45-50 per wheel, i've asked round!

sorry to drag up an old post guys but i was doing a search for info on P-Slots and came accross this thread. I have just bought a set of aftermarket (Ronal IIRC) 15" P-slots and i am going to mirror polish them and the caps plus stretch the tyres. They aren't going on a VW however. I am fitting them to my Euro'd Mk2 Punto which has been lowered by 95mm (for now) on coilovers. If anyone stays near Glasgow i'm sure hey'll have seen my car about but for the one's who stay nowhere near I'll get some pics for you as i shine the wheels up (along with a mate who is doing AMG wheels for his Pug 206).

Cheers, Kevin

THAT'S IT!!!!!!

How many elbows did you use to achieve that finish???????

That is what I wanna do to mine!!

Did you have to spray anything on top to preserve that shine. Would they go dull quick if you didn't?

Wow this is an old thread of mine. the wheels are still as i bought them in my garage :S

Wheels start to look shit after a while if they havnt been laquered as the tar and brake dust starts eating away at them again.

BTW I emailed those guys in Milton, but I haven't heard anything yet........

So I could use emery to smooth back the wheels and then I could laquer them?

I don't necessarily need to get ALL the kerb marks out - i'm no perfectionist!!

I dont think they are too hot on the emails too busy most of the time. Better off taking a wheel down there and asking them. What wheels do you have the teardops or the pslots? What i have started to do to mine is strip any remaining paint off them with some nitromoors (halfrauds sell it) then work up the grades with wet'n'dry or emery paper. I bought 800, 1000, 1200, and 1500 grit. Once they are looking smooth finish em off with some autosol (think thats what its called)
