as far as i know if you want the wheels mirror polished you can't really laquer them as the laquer has nothing to "key" to and over time it will flake off. I've also heard that if the metal below the paint (removed with Nitromor) is in good nick then start wet-sanding with 1200, then 1500 then Autosol. The only real reason to use lower grades of paper and work up is if the metal below is scratched.

I really like them on my car! But I wish I had four silver ones!

Don't think i'm gonna polish them after all, cos if you can't laquer them i'll be polishing endlessly!!

Probably sand 'em back, silver spray them with that stuff reccommended on the 'how to' then lacquer.

At least they'll match! even if they don't turn out brilliant!

Only trouble is, look at all the nooks and (ahem) crannies. Prepping that looks scary!
