I was toying with the idea of getting some mk2 scirocco clocks instead of what I have as they look nicer, especially the curved fuel and temperature gauges under the rev counter. You can even get them with an 8000rpm tacho

They're super rare though, because the uk didn't get 16vs and also I think these early ones were only fitted on the storm.

Not sure if there is a pic in the above link as I'm at work. A complete re-wire is needed for those, plus I think they are slightly larger. look good though.

Looks like these american ones don't have the MPG swingometer

I've seen more earlier sets come up, the ones with 1-2 switch in the top right. And I prefer the golf clocks as they look very oem and like they should be there

So i bought a set of MFA clocks, sans the 6 pin plug on the back, though hopefully have a lead on that too. After an early set of stalks too if I can get my hands on them or else I'll have a look at jury rigging the switch on my stalks to make them work. I'll put up a bit more info as I progress with this 'mini project'

So clocks came, seems they're in a similar condition to yours Gaz, lugs missing as well as the screw holes. Grrr!

Also how did you connect to the handbrake light? The one I have has a wide PCB type thing with 4 'foils' tracks on. I'm guessing 2 are for the handbrake, and 2 for the choke (which isn't in this switch/lamp).

4-pin plug goes into the back of it. Think only 3 pins are used, a switched live and the two outputs.

I can't tell from the pic but I imagine it should be, there's only one type of plug on mk1 clocks.
