Just to update folks; the car is very much dead.

The car was bought from me then driven without a licence or insurance so it was taken from him by the police. His brother bought the car off him and paid the release fees to the police and it sat in Arbroath for quite some time.

It was then sold to a friend of mine who crashed it a couple of times and didn't fully repair it. (i.e. rattle can red at the front end.)

He then sold it to someone in arbroath and that was the last I'd heard of it until recently I was talking to a guy who has a mk1 polo and mentioned he bought a GT engine for it. After a fair bit of digging I found out it was my car the engine was out of. :sad:

Apparently it was never going to see the road again and it was in some state with no wheels on it lying on the ground with all the panels battered in.

RIP.

just wanting to know if the breadvan was bought from Whitehaven? I have a polo with nearly exactly the same reg.

If my memory serves me correctly I believe it came from the Carlisle area.

I personally bought it from a guy in arbroath. It was a faded pink colour and the oil pressure light kept on coming on with the annoying buzzer if you drove it for any longer than 20 minutes!

hmm Carlisle isnt to far from white haven... was this a 1993 by any chance just I have a coupe and for my reg all you have to do is change that 9 for a 5 and its my reg lol

The only reason I know it was Carlisle area is due to a forum member called GenesisGT. He had a very similar reg and he told me it must have been from the Carlisle area as his was from there originally IIRC. I'll see if I can dig up a pic of his old car.
