But you said he should go for the gripper because of the cost advantage ratio. If the Peolquin worked out significantly cheaper overall and if it doesnt need servicing then it's at a significant cost advantage ratio !

For Peloquin to work out cheaper the units will have to cost about £300 or less I would think...that's doesn't look to be the case for their current units on their website. Two I looked at were in the region of 900 and 1200 dollars.

I have one of the Gripper diffs and at the time of buying i was a little dissapointed that quaife didnt do one, So not knowing alot about them and how they work i just bought what was available,

Now a month down the line I'm actually very impressed, They really arnt as bad as people make out and to be honest i dont really have any problems round town or in the local multi-storey car park, yes they do click a few times occasionally but it depends greatly on which oil is used. And they do make the stearing a little heaviar but lets face it, the G's are 15 years old with no power stearing and are hardly blessed with creature comforts anyhow !! Espessially when you deck em and stick wide wheels on !

The simple fact that you own a g40 says to me your obviously enjoy the drivability and arnt too bothered about your creature comforts !!

So dont be too put off by the gripper, However saying this if there had of been the option of a quaife ( That has been tried and tested a million times over ) At such a BARGAIN ! Then i would definatly of bought one !!!!!!

You do have to be on the ball with any diff but once you have adapted your driving style then oh boy are you in for the ride of your life !! Cornering speed can be nothing short of emence. And i can now get somewhere in 1st too, 2nd with a little care romps and third is absolutly sweet, unlike before hand.

If your short on funds then sell your parents as they really are a must for the G - mmmm actually anyone wanna buy some parents - decent people ! Any offers ? I could do with one for my spare box

Just a note for anyone that is thinking of fitting a plated diff.

I have a Gemini plated diff in my car it hasn't been touched since 1998/99 and had a serious amount of abuse.

I have just had my first failure on the gearbox and all that has failed is the Bronze bush in the LSD.
