Trouble is,no matter how unique, someone's always done it. Like the bloke who put a Ford Cosworth in a 3 series, then found someone had done it 6 months earlier. Same happened to me. Putting a 1.6 in a MK2 is nothing new,but fueling it with bike carbs was something id never heard of. Thought i was unique. But I've heard there's a few - to little surprise. Course there will be.

Thats not to say there's no hope. I've no doubt a Mazda rotary engine can be put in the front, using modified MX5 running gear, driving the rear wheels. Bet noone's done that. It'd take high-level engineering, but still. Someone has put a 5.7 litre V8 in the tail of a Porsche 911 and a 27 litre tank engine in a Rover,so anything is possible if you're determined.

Bodywork is 100x more flexible! You could make it a 5dr if you had the minerals, use a Capri roof, there's no limit. But i figure this isnt the kinda thing you're meaning. How about an open roof? Slightly beefier and squarer sills? Matt black scuttle panel? Hatch rear arches? Wherever your imagination will go,seriously.

my brothers mk1 Golf is pretty unique (i.e. not 100% unique)

Jetta front end involves cutting the Golf front panel off and inner wings at the front needed modding

Kamei scoop that no-one but me and Matt like

Tornado Red (rather than common Mars red)

Wolfrace Pepperpot wheels.......ain't seen another set in 4x100

&

it's got multi point fuel injection off a NZ Polo

Unique mods are loads of fun - you think oh my god thats such a good idea - you go ahead and do it and a few days before its ready someone puts a post up saying look what i've done - totally pissing on your fire!

I had a unique car - but its long gone - it was an Audi 100 Avant Quattro with an Oettinger engine conversion! When it was new in 1990 it cost £36,000 - and there were only 2 in the UK. The other one is owned by oettinger still!

I fitted the Audi 200 rear reflectors and the clear front indicators - fitted a news 40mm lowering kit (gas shocks and springs) along with the Porsche 928 Alloys with 215/40/16's - stuck to the road like shit to a blanket, and with the modified Oettinger engine it could really tank along - gave a ferrari a run for its money on the M6 toll on the way home from Polo show 2004. The engine was a work of art - basically a you are-Quattro engine, but with no turbo. stripped bare and rebuilt with forged pistons steel lightened and balance crank, gas flowed head, high lift cam and custome air box with a K&N panel filter = 190bhp & 250lb/ft torque!

I really did love the thing, but a new fuel tank crippled me financially and a fitting bill of £700 wasnt what i needed! Plus an 88 mile a day commute and the best i got out of this was 25mpg, but normally closer to 16-18mpg! So I sold it and bought my G40 and a mk2 Scirocco!

^ awesome!

I have a centre exit exhaust on my Mk4 polo - you either love it or you hate it. I love it as it is totally different, I have never seen it done before on a polo. It took along time to do aswell!

SOrry chantelle - i don't like it as far as styling is concerned, but its a damn tidy job that been done and i like it for that. Perhaps its the shape, i dunno, maybe the positioning, but it doesnt seem to work. Top marks for being diffrent and inventive though!

I'm a club polo member and I've got a car that hasn't been lowerred.

although they are not finished - i got a few things done to mine which will open a few eyes.

TT dash in a mk3 polo?

will be nice to se the quality of finish .....A Bort......

i did have orange wheels, and ran two different sets of wheels on at the same time :D

maybe one mod isnt unique, but the whole combination on the car would be, i doubt anybody runs the same setup as anybody else.

I used to run my mk2 with 14's up front with 13's on the back.

My Unique mod - a 6ft whippy aerial (the top is the orange 76 aerial topper level with the roof of the garage)

off topic but I've seen your car a couple of times in chippy and witney, even put a post in the woz it you section! like the car, the exhaust sounds fantastic, where did you get it done?

this is a bit different, doubt anyone will like it though, but i dont care cos I've only done one side so far and it was only a couple of rattle cans so easy enough to change it back again!!

Cheap mods are the most fun! especially when they get you lots of attension ha ha :p

I beleive that you can only make your car how you want it, and by doing this it will become unique in its own way. If not just hope you never run into one the same and tell all your mates your the only one! ha ha
