I wouldnt expect much folk to go for it as a performance upgrade.....more a like for like swap tbh!

Plus the gearbox is worth £200 quid alone due to it being recently refurbed!! I am willing to split the box from the engine! The engine will just end up at the scrappy!

strongly interested, how easy was it to fit when you did it? lookin to put it in my 6n, will the gearbox mate up with my current peddle box ect ok?

i have no clue with regards to the pedal box buddy.......with regards to how easy this engine was to fit, well.....i never fitted it. i only took it out to put the GTI engine in.

There is no 8v 75 hp mate. The 1.4 8v engine is 60hp as i also have the same engine in my car.

oh.....just when i went to a local gargage, i wanted to do an engine swap and the easiest engine by his computer screen was a 1.4 8v 75bhp out of a 6n2 :S lol

Righto, will clear this up, 1.0l 8v is 50bhp, the 1.4 8v which is found in the 'match' models and there is TWO 16v versions which are 75bhp and 100bhp.

James is also right, this wont fit the GTI, well it will fit.....but the gear ratios will be completely different.

As for engine code, cant remember james and i am offshore at the moment i will take £275 including courier james, considering the gearbox alone is easily worth that due to it being refurbed. So free engine :p

Is the box still for sale? how much you want just for the box?

250 including courier mate, the box is the valuable part......this is saving you at least 250 quid on going somewhere else!

do you have the air flow meter for this car? if you could tell me if it would fit the 1.4 16v(75bhp) version i would be very interested in it if you were wiling to split. thanks lee

God knows mate, i have absolutely no clue.....if the airflow meter is attached to the engine then it will still be on it, but if its a sperate componant to the engine, then its likely it will now be attached to the GTI.
