I paid 150 for my engine off them, cheapest I've managed to get a quote delivered for is 120, you can get them real cheap if your lucky, afh or abd on bike carbs, is as simple as wiring a live to early mk2 ignition, and power to a fuel pump :) if you go for afh on 6n injection it's a lot of wiring, basically cutting and joining 2 looms together.

Friday with the abd in so putting the engine and box in I also have the gt cam and a 1.0 aau chip is it best to use the 1.4 inlet and injector ? Feel

Silly Evan asking really but I have 1.0 and 1.3 inlets and injectors so thought IDE ask incase of torque changes .. What do u guys think

ABD engine ( from K reg, L reg and some early M reg mk3 Golfs ) the engine will look identical to the AAU engine, also same rocker cover.

AAU thermostat housing so both sensors fit your AAU loom, so will also use all AAU water hoses

Either AAU or ABD clutch

Either AAU or ABD fly wheel

Either exhaust manifold

AAU alternator and tensioner bracket

AAU alternator pully wheel off the side of the AAU engine will be needed, to use the AAU alternator, so swap them over.

AAU engine and gear box mounts, iff you have put a 5 speed gear box on the AAU already then use them gear box mounts

AAU and ABD single point injection ( SPI ) air intake units are the same ( big dome air intake ), only differences are the breather pipes at the back connecting it to the bottom end of the engine, use ABD both hoses for this, 2 in total, one to rocker, one to air intake unit

Either ABD or AAU inlet manifold

Either ABD or AAU throttle body

One water pipe that comes from the heater matrix will be a tight fit over the metal water pipe on the back of the ABD block, but will fit when lubed up

AAU ECU is to be used as the ABD connection is different, will run fine

AAU and ABD starter motor can both be used, AAU is smaller in size

AAU ignition leads, spark plugs, dizzy and coil are all fine, ABD ones are fine too

Do you need to use the 5 speed polo one or can you use the 1.4 abd one?
