Well I've finally painted the car now!!! I'm feeling so chuffed and have spent too much time just lookin at it, i cant reassemble untill the paint is nice and hard in a week or so, but i have eyed up the bumpers boot etc and got quite exited! here's a few sneeky peek pics of the finish:

The mettalic came out just perfect and looks just how i wanted it. I'm now feeling like its all come together after spendin so much time just sloggin away this summer. Ill get some nice pics up soon as i its on the road and back together.

I used a gun, cant really do a whole car with a rattler unless its matt or satin which i did think about just 4 how easy it would have been. To b honest its not all that expensive, i only spent bout £200-£250 on paint supplies, just having sumwere to spray is the key. Been refitting the rear bumper this morning and its a right hassle cos all the paint is stil slightly soft. Got the GT clocks fitted 2day too which is nice. Next will be putting all the glass/rubber back in and fitting the panels for the front end soon. Ill take some pics in a bit and whack em up this evening.

I have fabbed up a little steal bracket, did it ages ago before the re-spray when i first did the boot. Its a neat little peice, thers a pic of the bracket some were in this thread, it mounts the number plate neatly at the base of the bumper all tucked up so never fear i had thought about it, and its also got some adjustment on it so it will be perfectly centered. I'm getting all frustrated being at uni and not being able to work on the car. I'm just mulling over what wheels i want at the mo instead.

It would still achieve that smooth, clean and tidy look you're aiming for without looking oddly out of place if you put it down below on brackets or something

I have always thought it is stupid when people smooth the numberplate area just to stick it back there??

I'm in the computer room at uni in bristol now (home is birmingham), should be working on a CAD model but instead I'm on here again. Soon as i have finished this term ill be back home and cracking on hard again over crimbo so that i can get it driving again and keep my car here during term time cos i get bad withdrawel simptoms! I got a list as long as my arm of stuff that needs doing, so i should be able to get my fill of modding when i get back! :-D soon as the car is back 2getha ill be thinking about engine swaps :-D cant help myself. oh and the recaros came from an alfa romeo in a scrappy paid 60 for them i think, but i want them re-trimmed ideally cos the passenger is a bit rough in places, had thought about doing it myself but its tricky from what i know.
