gutted id love to know where this has ended up i sold it to a bloke in bridgend and he sold it to another bloke in porthcawl but thats as far as i know of the car!!! :( :( big mistake selling this bad boy!!!

I know this is an old post but I am currently fitting solenoids in my mk2f, same as your car, and I am using the exact same solenoid you pictured, did you have any problems with them not working, where did you place your solenoids? I have placed mine just a bit further up the door then the inner handle and connected the wire directly to the rod which pulls the mechanism but the solenoid does not appear to pull hard enough :(
