as above really. I might paint over by bonnet cos its all scratched and chequered (shitty diy) can I just paint over that or do I need primer or summfin. any tips? How many coats? cheers Jonny

you might want to sand it down a bit beforehand with something like 1200grit

just to key the surface and be careful I've heard alot about people sayingit doesent bond too well

and 1200 is how course or fine the paper is the bigger teh number the smoother the paper

there was someone on here that had to hold the can very close as th epaint went funny and didnt stick otherwise and you dont need to sand bck to metal if you bonnets not rusty you just need to take the shiny ness of the paint so it looks flat

I used a roller dude it worked well

its just like painting a wall lol

I'm not that bothered as its supposed to be rat but I dont want it to be REALLY shit

it wont if you give it a few coats and use some tak rags to clean the paint first and use some quality brushes

a tak rag is a cloth that can be used to clean body work before spraying/painting I'm not sure where sells them though sorry.

but give it a sand with some 400 paper to give it a tidy up then if you think its worth it go for some 800 or finer... then tack rag it to remove the dust and crap and paint and your sorted...

I did start to sand it but wif the wrong paper so its all scratched now.

if its scrtched bad give it a coat and see what it lookas like if it looks like with a few more coats it will be smoother do atht but if not sand it with the paper

and if its desastorous I'll just buy this...

nitromors... erm... if youve got abit of time and want to go back to bear meatal yerits perfect but other than that no.

and atht bonnet isent nothing special if your is streight yours is fine as that one is satin black (new oem parts are) so you would still have to paint it

rite I gave it a rinse and the scratches or only light paint damage but there is quite alot. sooo I'll wait to dry the whack a coat on and see what happens. If its shit I'll do it all properly wif real paint. I'll get a pic and see what u think

1200 grit is a finishing paper. Wouldn't use that, will be to smooth. I'd say 800 grit would be better.

I'm not trying to do taht, taht would be silly :lol:
