I have the G60 set up ready to go on but I need to get a set of hoses.

Which set should I order to fit my 98/R 6n 16v, are the golf G60 ones the same as the Corrado?

If I buy a set I'm guessing the rear's won't fit as they will be for a golf/rado or is there someone who would sell me everything I need?

What's the situtation regarding the master cylinder / servo

What could I fit to my 8v? Is the polo 16v one bigger? or would a G60 one go on?

slider pins are what hold the caliper to the carrier...or more accuratley let the caliper slide forwards and backwards

the heads are hex (15mm or something) and u hold this with an open ended spanner when undoing the bolts that hold the caliper to them... shaving down 2mm off the heads is best done in a lathe and wont take more than a few mins

however u will need a fairly slim spanner from then on to hold the head when u fit the caliper bolts

This is because the lucas calipers fitted to the G60 are actually wider than the ones on the polo 16v in order to accommodate the 280mm discs which are slightly thicker than the 256mm ones. Therefore, shaving this 2mm off the slider pins allows the narrower 16v calipers to open wider, and give the extra clearance needed to accommodate the pads and the thicker disc.

I've gone the alternative route and actually sourced some G60 calipers to go with the carriers, and therefore I won't need to shave off that 2mm. But I'm setting myself up for the added ballache that as I'm fitting new calipers, I'm going to have to bleed the brakes afterwards, which I'm not looking forward to.

I've just done the conversion on a polo gti..... i used the corrado slider pins and it's a straight swap.

But i'm sure the 280 discs are thinner than the 256 ones! i rember the *256s to be 25mm and the *280s are only 22mm

sorry to bring up an old topic...

but i just dont see how shavin the slider pins would work as the caliper itself just seems to narrow as when i tryed to fit mine today when the carrier was on and the pads in place with the piston pushed back it still wouldnt fit over...
