It's taken me ages to sort out the bump strips on the car, i removed them, and the glue was still on the sides, it kinda made me wanna forget about modifying the car any more because it looked so shite. But i got my finger out at the weekend and bought some petrol to remove the adhesive, looks good now, and i'm ordering new lights as we speak! watch this space.

id get the handle's sprayed black, along with the bumpstrips and alloy's! fit clear light's on front and smoked hella l.e.d's on the back, lower it and put a nice light smoke tint on the window's!!

:thumbsup:8-)

how much does it cost to get the alloys sprayed? and do you think silver and black would clash? i was thinking if i got new lights i'd do clear all over, as it may compliment the silver colour...

think the black will look cool, but I'm o i think it would be nicer with cc'd door handels removed rub strips and black centred alloys and mk5 rears or black hellas and it will cost about £50 at the most from halfords if you do a diy

i'm brand new with cars, so you're gonna have to explain what 'cc'd door handles' are mate, and how would i go about removing the rubber strips without leaving marks? is it the same colour underneath? will it just need a good clean?

Where can i get these hella lights from too?

sorry mate yer i forgot it means colour coded (same colour as car) as for the strips use the search in the top right of the screen to search for removing rubstrips.

what i did was pull them off slowly (put fishing wire behind the strip and moving in a sawing motion down the strip it will fall off gradually) when this is done get some petrol on a rag and rub the foamy stuff until its all gone then when this is done thoroughly wash the area so it doesent burn the paint ;) a dn give it a good waxing and t cutting

brilliant mate i'm gonna check it out. as for the colour coded handles, where will the be bought from? i'm gagging to modify my car, just had a sudden urge to do it!

lol yer just that sudden urge turns into no money and alot of hours cleaning lol

as for the handels i would heep an eye out on here for a ste of mk4 handels (possibly on a breaking car) ( there are some on here atm) and spray them with paint of the correct colour the correct coulour code can be obtained from a plaque under the boot floor (open the boot and try to look at your knees through the car an dyou will see the plaque) its hard to explain until you do it lol and when you have this code go to you local vw stealers and get some paint and spray the handles and fit them back on.

there used to be a shit load of vw polo lights on eBay, seems like theres hardly any anymore.

keep a look out on the sales forum. you could always post sumet on the wanted section

Looks sweet so far mate

cheers mate, i had another question too.

i wouldn't mind lowering the car, but i've already got a problem. The wheels I'm using rub when i put the steering wheel on full lock, nothing major but you can hear a rubbing sound quite loud.

i had to cut the inside of the mudflap off on the rear, as it was rubbing there too. my tyres are uber wide, 7.5/8 inches, so would it be a problem to lower the car any more?

get some stretched rubber on, 165-45's!!
