hi at the moment I've got the original mk4 16v alloys on my car and i really like the style of them i just want them a different collour and new VW centre caps.

how easy is it to paint these gold.(dull subrau gold)

or does anyone know someone who does this i live round stoke-on-trent staffordshire.

any advice you could give me would be great.

use somthing like nitromors to get the paint off and then use an abrasive sand paper then primer the wheels, and wet and dry and rub that back slightly then apply the paint in thin coats and then laquer

thats its BASICALLY

i never bother strippin the old paint off. mind you i change wheels so often i never know if the finish lasts not heard of any problems doin it my way anyhoo

dont bother stripping the wheels with nitromors. if the paint is in good nick then just rub ove with fine sanding pads to key the surface, spray the new colour on then laquer to protect. unless there is any exposed bare metal you wont need to primer either.if the metal has been exposed, by curbing for example, sand the marks out with a palm sander, prime and paint!
