mk5 gti bottom ball joint

had to replace my nearside outer cv boot due to being split this weekend,but when it was all stripped down i noticed the ball joint was split so called around a few places but being a saturday afternoon the motor facters were all shut so got a qoute off one place for £70 for the arm.

they said the ball joint was not a seperate item but surely it is as it is held in by 3 bolts.

so just wondering if the ball joint can be bought seperatly?

also my gearbox has developed into a really bad loud whining sound so looks like that will have to come out very soon-gutted!!!!

does anybody know of any decent transmission specialists in north lancashire area?
