just bought a sub and amp kit and i cant see anywhere to put the power cable coming from the battery into the car, just wondering how other people have done this with mk4 polos, any help would be great, cheers mike.

i drilled mine threw the firewall...so it came out behind the passengers footwell carpet... tip if your doin this lift the carpet up first lol!

I ran my RCA cable down the passenger side of the car and the power lead down the drivers side, if you put the power cable thru the gromet which is near the drivers footwell that has the boot realese cable come throu, this is how i dont my mk4 polo

Find a gromit at the back of the engine bay n feed it through there?

I've looked and cant seem to find anything :S

look harder there is one just behind where the break lines feed into.. take out the passenger glove box so its easier to get to from inside too

took the glovebox out and there is a large gromit just need to the water tank thing but it doesnt want to come off

thats because there is carpet behind it... push an un-bent wire coat hanger thru it and use it as a tracer

right... these pics should help.. the gromit i have taken off there is a pipe of some kind behind it... and it doesnt seem to lead to anything

He's right, about half way down the firewall, there will already be some loom going through it.

got it all sorted now, when i put the wire through that gromit i couldnt find the wire behind the dash, but eventually sorted it its took about 3-4 hours to fit a sub and amp kit and get it working, proper n00b

done this for someone before so got pictures from last time,

the glovebox is 5 bolts its really easy mate and if your doing the sub then take it out makes feeding everything through so much easier...

do you mean this load of wires to feed the power cable through??... how easy is it to re-seal after puting the cable through?

GUYS in a 6n2 car there is much easier access at the drivers side , there is a hole with a plastic plug that just pops out very easily i will post a pic soon.. no need to take off the glovebox at all unless you particularly want the wire to feed through at that side (nearer the battery etc). the pics above show a more fiddly way of getting the wires through, an experienced ICE guy showed me the simple way. not sure if older cars are the same yet
