Well I'm yet to have any problems with heat. If any occur I'll install some case fans, I've got loads from back in the days of computer modding - lol.

MORE IMPORTANTLY:

I can't seem to find a way to hold the sub in place. I've tried velcro, but there's just not enough contact points. :( How do you people hold your subs in place? I've got to take the car back to uni tomorrow, and i'd like to be able to take the sub with me, but if it's not going to stay put then I'll have to leave it behind for fear of it being damaged

Please guys?

My sub keeps falling over, and I don't want to damage it.

How do you lot hold your subs in place? I don't really fancy screwing it down as it was supposed to be easy to remove. But I also wanted it to look as OEM as possible.

I take it you have to screw these into the side of the boot with self tappers then? I could probably make myself one for a fraction of that cost, I'll bear it in mind though - cheers.

Dunno bout where you've finally put your kit, but like some of the above pics, I've built a false floof, with a cut out for the amp and sub box = they both just sit in holes,

Polos have a raised lip around the boot about 60mm high, cut board to fit, one hole for box, one for amp, wires underneath, carpet top and edges, job done.

All lifts out, so can get at spare wheel, standard boot floor, and still fit a bod...i mean baggage in!

sorry if this is an old thread, but iam wanting to make a false floor like so, did you make a template to do the false floor? if so what did you use etc?

strap it down or make an mdf floor to bolt it to

loose sub boxes are extremely dangerouse as if you have an accident it can easily break through the rear seats and do some serious damage to people

always secure them well

I just happened to have a piece of MDF the right shape. You could draw around your existing carpet though-to get it in and out of the car you'll need to push the rear seats forward, and it's a bit of an effort, but it'll hold itself in place if you make it well! :) HTH.
