mot aint a problem :-)

Mines dyno'd at 331 bhp and 377 lbft. Conversion carried out at JBS.

Got nothing to prove and no need to lie. If you've done your homework you'll be aware an IHI'd 20v can make anywhere between 310 and 350 bhp with between 300 and 380 is lb/ft dependng on map set up.

I have two graphs to prove the power and the guy from aldon laughted when it topped their rollers at around 4K when it was just starting to make boost, saying it is well over 300 bhp. Got data to prove it does 0-60 in 4.8 secs as well so its not exactly all wasted power.

I'm not trying to be big headed here but so many people are disbelievers. you can definately benefit from over 240bhp if you remap a 225 engine you'll be looking at 270ish bhp which is what most mk2 golfs etc are running fine. Make sure you budget a diff into your costs, worth every penny.

Like dave has mentioned i'm going to OE show if you fancy popping over for a chat.

Good luck with the conversion

whats 5bhp between friends... :smirk:

alot when your racing him lol

hit a brick wall "maybe?" i had a guy come down for one of the gearboxes off the polo and he recons that the seat ibiza imobiliser is the same system as the tt and golfs i.e the clocks are needed and the keys :( oops!

going to call a ecu company up in southend to see if this is true and if i can get round this problem.

if not iv gotta find £1200 for a ecu and loom :(

You do not need to get a new ecu and loom at all if you don’t want too. You can just get the immobilizer decoded (or 'defeated' as some people say). Can't remember how much it cost for Jabba to do mine as it was mapped at the same time...

I haven’t fiddled with my polo much so I don’t know if they use transponders in the keys for the immobilizer? Or just a separate system? I’d presume separate as VW offered conlog systems as an extra?

You may want to do a bit more research. There is an absolute wealth of information on the net about 20v's and their associated swaps. Qpeng, Club GTi, Dubforce, E38 to name a few. There’s even a sole 20v around somewhere...

cheers mate nice one

have u done any research into you are conversion mate?

dont mean to b sounding funny

but u should know u can get the immbozlier defeat or even a qpeng plug and play cheaper than £1200

true but having a aftermarket ecu is better tuning and less hassle with wireing it up? will be making call on this soon

offering engine up to only find the mounts dont fit as i thought they would so now ordering the polo 6n 1.8t 20v engine mount, gearbox kit

ha ha loving the blue rope holding the engine,

that looks alot of stuff to connect up

how much is the whole converion gonna set you back?

dude, this is gone be cool, keep it up, and respect for doing what you are doing your way and taking no1 else's point of view, but your own!

Nice one mate, however i get the feeling the mounts are only the start of the issues. Although using aftermarket ecu wil make the wiring side of things easier.
