  • cheers should be ready with in the next month now.

  • ye ticks over lovely and it revs so clean I'm really happy with it i was having thoughts that i would have to but mbe or some managment for it after it run last time but the way forward is late spec c

long time coming, but it'l be worth it! no subframe? books dont allow?

absolutely awesome work mate! Glad you haven't sold it

i need a rollcage in my life

i considered a subframe but my sumpguard will hold the front end together for me like on my ols car and that does the job.

Looks amazing, were you not tempted to keep it a 1300 but tune the shit out of that power plant? I was noticing in the VW performance article on the Berg cup that the polo's were all 1300. I'm no expert mind.

This is what Adam P should be doing to his new coupe and try and beat his 205 times..

"VW performance article on the Berg cup that the polo's were all 1300.............."

Correct but that is regarding the Berg Cup championship in Germany, for most UK competition classes, the engine size breaks at 1400cc ................ 0-1000 / 1000 - 1400 / 1400 - 2000 ......ect

i did consider using my tunned 1300cc engine but this is the cheaper option for power and ye the class I'm in is 1000cc-1400cc so the 1.4 was the way to go. I also think that the berg cup has gone up to 1400cc now and thats why alot of the 1300cc motors were for sale at the start of this year but i could be wrong.

right over the weekend we got the car running correctly by modifing the dizzy but it was reading 113 decibles and it has to be 101 so we have to rethinkt the exhaust systems we had an old chevette system which we attache dto get the noise level right and she sounded nice and was with n the noise limit so now we now what we have to to with the exhaust system.

here is a video

That is one immense project. I just read it from the start up until now, and I like choked when you said you was gonna sell it, way to much love has gone into this to sell mate. Keep up the good work.

Sounds awesome aswell, doesn't sound any quieter lol.

i have feelings about this car that i have only had about women before!

That's ticking over like the proverbial Swiss watch Hywel! Good work.

Sounds far better too now, I love the sound of induction roar but not noisy exhausts. I think you may need to do something a little more permanent with the exhaust before rallying it though!

ye ticks over lovely and it revs so clean I'm really happy with it i was having thoughts that i would have to but mbe or some managment for it after it run last time but the way forward is late spec coupe s dizzy with vacum advance on it and the little black box to run it and the coil all from the coupe s then remove the vacum part of the dizzy and fix the part in side to fully advanced as otherwise the big thing on the outside obstructs with the water junction on the head and the connect it all up and she fired up and runs lovely so thats the cheap way of getting it to work people.

ye gonna have to cut the chevette system up and it the boxes under there some how haha.

sounds amazing and looks amazing, so glad ue kept on with it, its an amazing project, and now almost an amzig car, shall be amazing once its all put together, is it just me or does it not have a rev limiter?

  • Author

no rev limiter yet its got a competition one on the car jushavnt wired it up yet. will stop it t 8k once set up

nice point about dizzies and no need for aftermarket management, that will have to get added to an AFH conversion faq

what wheels you running?

glad to see you didnt sell it in the end.....women - snakes with tits if you ask me lol

Jamie

Doing that to the Distributer will give you a very high maximum advance will it not, not the right curve?

yep if neone needs anyhelp just ask

I'm speachless i really am! That is sex in an engine bay!

I'll take an AFH Conversion FAQ if theres one going?!

not sure on that but its how my dads ford powerd chevette used to run and that was producing 160bhp at the wheels with no problems as the weights still advance it and it will be running very advanced anyway.

it seems to be fine and the chevette was so thats what I'm going on maybe it aint technally correct but it works lol

the timing was advancing on the gun from 10 at idle to 32 while reving hard so that seems right for a competition engine

Edited by heg123

10-32 with the vacuum thing pulled right up, or have you fixed it down?

  • Author

its fixed at the vacum advance at full but the weights inside still adjusts the advance so it still works as the weights do the most of the advancing not the vacum.
